GOLF: beyond the stars
A short golf game set in space for the Norwich Games Festival jam 2024! Made in about a week using Godot 4. Jump between 9 holes across several small planets using their gravity to guide your ball!
CONTROLS and TIPS:
A good old 2d game of golf. Just with some weird gravity! Green arrow points to current hole. Light-Blue arrow points to your ball in case you lose it. Small flags are player checkpoints, blue circle is the balls last location if you need to reset or make a big mistake. (When holding to launch the ball, fake tracer shots will show you roughly where it will go :P )
MOVE (Left and Right) | A,D |
JUMP | SPACE BAR - you are quite floaty far from planets |
HIT BALL | Once its is still, click and drag to launch the ball (icon appears) |
RESET BALL | R - Sometimes... you lose your ball (also press if it glitches out) |
RESPAWN PLAYER | T - Sometimes... you lose yourself (press if lost in space/glitched) |
HARD RESET BALL | H - Sometimes... you REALLY lose you ball (Kinda cheating) |
My first time doing a jam with Godot, lots to learn. Please excuse the jank and block-out parts of the level :P I can finish the level in about 30 shots!

BUGS:
- Seems to be a few jumping involved bugs
- Respawning can put stuff in the ground
- Godot has lag spikes when loading some textures it seems. Only in browser...
